How I Took Back My Power

R285.00

Not even all the scientific articles about ectopic pregnancies and how little is understood about them and that nothing can be done to prevent and predict them could reassure me. Somehow, I had something to do with it. I blamed myself. By so doing, I hurt and tortured myself thus making it difficult to let go, to accept what had happened.

We all battle with personal demons – low self-worth, anxiety and addiction to others’ approval. Nompumelelo Runji lays hers bare as she tells of the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual effects of living through a relationship characterised by emotional neglect, intimacy avoidance, passive aggression and unfaithfulness. Having fought to break the cycle, she focuses on leaving behind a legacy of authenticity and healthy bonds.

Hers is the inspirational story of a woman beating abuse, and dealing with the topical issue of black women and mental illness. Finally, help is at hand for you to develop the courage to stop enabling abusive behaviours.
